Breaking News COVID-19
January 29, 2021
It was announced this morning that Canadian airlines, at the prerogative of the federal government, are cancelling all service to the Caribbean and Mexico commencing on January 31, 2021 until the end of April. The airlines are immediately making arrangements with customers with return leg tickets to organize flights back to Canada. The federal government has also announced that international flights will only be permitted into the airports in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal and that there will be mandatory PCR testing at those airports for returning Canadians in addition to the pre-boarding test already required, and that travellers will have to wait for the PCR test results at a government approved hotel at their own cost. Further details of the program are expected shortly, but the measures are similar to those that have been in place in Australia, which requires a full 14-day quarantine in a government-arranged hotel.
